Murdoch, the Grey Nurse Shark, is turning 5, and we're having a party!
Murdoch was born at Oceanworld Manly in 2007, and is one of only a handful of Grey Nurse Sharks born in captivity worldwide.
The knowledge gained by the successful breeding of our sharks has been vital in helping us understand more about these critically endangered animals, and our success could contribute to a more widespread captive breeding program aimed at one day rebuilding wild populations.
Current estimates suggest that there may be less than 500 of these magnificent sharks along the entire eastern coast of Australia.
To celebrate our remarkable boy's fifth birthday, Oceanworld will have a special birthday feed on Friday 10th February, followed by a birthday party on Sunday 12th February.
Join the celebrations at Oceanworld Manly between 10am-12pm on Sunday, with face painting, party games, party food and sing happy birthday to Murdoch!
